Treasure Hunt Clues

Treasure Hunt

The purpose of the Treasure Hunt is to have fun in the search and to remind people that Sea Fair is coming. The ever-mysterious Salty Dog hides a key to the treasure two or three weeks before Sea Fair weekend and then gives clues to the populace as to what and where the key may be. Clues are printed in the Powell River Peak and here as well so do check back.

The Treasure is a multitude of goodies donated by generous businesses in the community and is given to the lucky winner at the opening ceremonies on Friday night.

The 2007 Sea Fair Treasure was found by a woman and her son quite by accident.   They were walking on the rocks by the beach when her sunglasses fell off.  As the two hunted for the glasses they came across the pop can in a plastic bag with a note saying they were the winners.

Being newcomers to Powell River, they were a bit confused so they took the pop can home and called the number for Salty Dog who was happy to tell them that they actually had found a treasure!
