Sea Fair Contests
Sea Fair generates a lot of excitement in Powell River and both the business community and residents jump in to participate in a variety of ways. Below is the list of contests with a link to an online form or a PDF file (Acrobat Reader required).
Business Decorating in the “Spirit of the Sea”
Powell River businesses and organizations are invited to participate in the fun of
Sea Fair by decorating their businesses in the weeks leading up to the big weekend.
There is no deadline for entering, however, decorations need to be in place no later
than 1:30 on July 20 when the judging will start.
Decorating can be a window display, interior decor or both. The point is to have fun and let visitors and residents alike know that Sea Fair is coming.
Participating businesses and organizations will have their name announced from the stage at Sea Fair.
The categories for the contest are
Best Big Business * Best Small Business * Best Window Display.

Mid-Way Colouring Contest

Prize: Win a Free Day of Unlimited Rides
Print the colouring page, have your child make like an artist and then drop it off
at
the Visitor’s Centre (beside Quality Foods on Joyce) by noon Friday, July 16th.
Treasure Hunt
The purpose of the Treasure Hunt is to have fun in the search and to remind people

The Treasure is a multitude of goodies donated by generous businesses in the community and is given to the lucky winner at the opening ceremonies on Friday night.
Funky Dunky Boat Race - Saturday, July 24
New to Sea Fair in 2009, the race is being held once again in 2010 and promises to be a lot of fun and laughs. The idea is for teams to build a boat on the beach in two hours out of recyclable materials and then get on and ride. Click here for a registration form that can be dropped off at the Visitor’s Centre or Quality Foods (both are in Crossroads Village (Joyce at Alberni).
